In this intermediate level lesson, the students will learn what cynicism means and how it appears in daily life. They will talk about questioning society, personal experiences with being or meeting cynical people, and whether cynicism is an insult or a personality trait. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to express basic opinions about cynicism and reflect on its role in different stages of life.

Question 2: Are you more trusting or more careful with people?

Question 3: Do you follow rules without thinking, or do you ask why?

Question 1: Would you describe yourself as a cynical person, or not at all?

Question 2: Do you think calling someone a cynic is an insult?

Question 3: Why most people become more cynical as they grow older?

Question 4: Who is the most cynical person you have met? Do you like or dislike them?

Question 5: Have you ever rejected a social custom or tradition? What did you do?

Question 6: At what age did you begin to question the status quo?

Question 7: What would happen if there were no cynics?

Question 8: In your opinion, are cynical people more unhappy, happier, or just realistic?
