Description

A nostalgic and highly visual session. Because A1-A2 students have limited vocabulary, this class uses "sentence starters" and photos to help them communicate. The goal is for students to successfully narrate simple facts about their past without getting frustrated by complex grammar.

Session Activities

1: Close your eyes. Think of your favorite toy when you were 7 years old. Was it a doll? A car? A ball? Tell the class the color of the toy.

2: I will say three things about my childhood. Two are true, and one is a lie. You have to guess the lie!

3: What kind of kid were you? Naughty? Active? Curious? Shy?

1: Where were you born? Were you a quiet child or a noisy child?

2: Who was your favorite teacher in primary school? Why were they your favorite?

3: What did you do after school? Did you play sports, or did you play video games?

4: What was your favorite meal when you were a child? Is it still your favorite today?

5: Was your hair long or short when you were 10? What color was it?

Naughty

A child who does not follow the rules or does bad things.

The first school for children (usually ages 5 to 11).

To Grow Up

To change from being a child to being an adult.

Memory

Something that you remember from the past.

Stuffed Animal

A toy made of cloth and filled with soft material (like a Teddy Bear).

To Collect

To bring together things that are the same (like cards, stones, or dolls).

Hide-and-Seek

A popular game where one person looks for the other people.
